Creative Creatures: Why We Built Melbourne's Purpose-Built Content Creation Studio

Creative Creatures: Why We Built Melbourne's Purpose-Built Content Creation Studio

Creative Creatures wasn't built because I wanted to start a podcast studio.

It was built because after years of producing content — for brands, for agencies, for my own projects — I kept running into the same problem. Creating good content at scale is hard. It's time-consuming, expensive, and inconsistent. Most businesses either don't do it at all, or they do it in bursts that don't build any real momentum.

The insight came from watching how our own podcast — Creative Creatures — had grown. We'd started it as a way to promote Duck Soup Creative Studio. Three years later, it had accumulated over three million streams, built a genuine audience, and become one of the most effective marketing tools we'd ever used.

The reason wasn't the podcast itself. It was the content system around it. Every episode produced social media content, website articles, email material, and search-optimised assets. One conversation, handled correctly, became weeks of marketing output.

That's the system we built Creative Creatures to deliver for other businesses. Not podcasts for the sake of podcasts. A content production system that uses conversation as its raw material.

The studio in Yarraville — the three cameras, the broadcast-quality audio, the professional lighting — exists to make that system as frictionless as possible. You arrive. You have a conversation. We handle the rest.
